Dear Reader, 💐 It’s Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, and I’ve been reflecting on how grateful I am for the people who make my work so meaningful. Thank you for being here. I’m so grateful to connect with educators who love bringing creativity, joy, and wellbeing into teaching and learning. This weekend in Canada is an invitation to gather around tables with family and friends. But not everyone has a warm, safe place to go. That’s why our family supports Covenant House Vancouver, which provides shelter, meals, and care for young people experiencing homelessness. It’s one small way we can help extend the warmth of Thanksgiving beyond our own table. At our house, we’re preparing something a little different. Instead of the traditional pumpkin pie, my son has requested sticky toffee pudding for dessert. And who am I to argue with that?! With that spirit of gathering in mind, I wanted to share two things with you.First, a favourite Best of Bridge sticky toffee pudding recipe that will be making an appearance at our Thanksgiving table. Best of Bridge Sticky Toffee Pudding
This is the dessert my son has requested for our Thanksgiving gathering. Rich, warm, and especially delicious with toffee sauce!
And second, a piece I’ve recently written about mise en place and how the way we set our tables shapes what becomes possible around them. It’s a reflection on hospitality, intention, and the creative conditions we establish for teaching and learning. Wherever you are in the world, I hope you find moments of sweetness, meaningful connection, and something to be grateful for. With warmth and gratitude, Misty 💛 |
